One of the first challenges you ever faced was taking your first step. You tried and failed, and tried and failed some more. Yet despite failing and falling repeatedly you continued to try and eventually succeeded.
What was the power that enabled the motivation? Who taught you that you should walk? What instructed you to get back up and try again every time you fell? The answer lies within every single one of us.
Since day one, we have literally been wired to set and achieve goals. This mindset of achievement has never left us, but it is often forgotten or misplaced from our common everyday thoughts. We can go weeks, months or even years trapped within our own limitations telling ourselves things like “I’m not good enough” “I’m not smart enough” “I don’t deserve it”.
When this negative self talk is our dominant thought process do we ever achieve anything? Imagine if this was the dominant self talk of a baby learning to walk. What would happen to that baby when it tried to walk and instead fell?
All life on planet earth is hard wired for growth. What makes humans unique is our brain and our ability to make choice’s. We make choices that limit our potential for growth and often face challenges that create fear and stop our momentum altogether.
We are the only organism that can do this and we often get trapped in these self imposed boxes of limitations.
A tree does not decide how tall it can grow. It simply grows as tall as it possibly can. Through all the circumstances, challenges and experiences that tree faces, the goal remains the same. The tree will never question if it should continue to grow or by which method. It simply grows or dies.
Humans have a choice. We can choose whether or not we face our challenges or bow to them. We can choose whether or not we continue to grow or instead live in our comfort zone.
Moment to moment, day to day we literally create the path upon which we will walk for the rest of our lives.
I want you to think back to a challenge in your life you didn’t think you could overcome but absolutely defied the odds and conquered that goal. Do you remember exactly how it felt? Remember the moments before you achieved that goal. Do you remember all the struggles you faced, all the times you second guessed yourself, all the time spent worrying, stressed and defeated?
Now remember what it was like to achieve that goal. That moment when it finally all came together. The past was the past and in that incredible moment everything you had been working for was finally achieved. How did that feel?
Our brain is 2 million years old and it is designed for survival. Anytime we face challenges, stress or struggle it opposes a threat to our main survival mechanism. Our brain will talk us out of facing challenges that could potentially harm us and produce a lesser chance of survival. Unfortunately, this primal survival mechanism is also what hinders our potential for growth and goal achievement.

Today is the first step in living, becoming and accomplishing everything your heart desires.
Today you learn how to now and forever, Conquer Goal Setting.
Often times when we set goals, we base our potential on past experiences. Most the goals we set today are goals we have failed in the past to achieve.
Remember, failure to our 2 million year old brain is a threat. When we create threats to our primitive survival mechanism we also create limits. We create comfort zones. We create limiting beliefs like “Every time i try to lose weight, i only gain it all back after” “Whenever i tried to achieve this, that happened” and so on.
It grants us the opportunity to envision failure before we have even taken the first step. If we routinely live based on our potential limitations and past experiences then we merely will always have a mediocre existence. We will never accomplish our goals and we will never be fulfilled with how our time has been spent on this earth. Therefore, the first thing you must do when setting a new goal is wipe the slate clean. Take your past experiences, your limiting beliefs and destroy them.
Action now #1
Identify your limiting beliefs
Think about the goal you are currently struggling to achieve. Now think about what exactly you tell yourself that stops you from taking action and accomplishing it. Do you tell yourself your not capable? Do you use past experiences and failures to try and predict the future? Do you worry about what others will think, say or do?
Identify your limiting beliefs now and write them down.
Now look at your list of limiting beliefs. These are the beliefs that have hindered you from accomplishing this goal and potentially many others past and future. Concentrate very hard on this list. Is this the person you actually believe you are? Is this what you truly believe about yourself? Are these limiting beliefs actually truths?
Action Now #2
Take each of these beliefs and rewrite them in their true form. One that accurately represents you as a person. For example, the term “Every time i try to lose weight, i only gain it all back after” prevents you from taking action because you have all of a sudden created a world where you are a fortune teller predicting your own future. We cannot predict the future but we can create it. When we focus on the negative limiting beliefs, they are exactly what we create.
If we take this limiting belief “Every time i try to lose weight, i only gain it all back after” and rephrase it to what it actually means, this enables us to re-frame our thinking and move beyond it.
“Everytime i try to lose weight, i only gain it all back after” is purely a negative statement with a negative expectation. It can however be re-framed to be a positive statement with a positive expectation.
For example, “Although my past experience with weight loss resulted in me failing to achieve my goal, i learned a great deal from that experience and i am not making the same mistakes. My past experiences do not dictate my future outcomes and i am entirely capable of accomplishing this goal and living happily with my success”
The statement above, totally re-framed will empower you to achieve your goals. It will enable the proper mindset to set new goals and move beyond your past experiences and present excuses.
Crush your limiting beliefs now.
Now that you have crushed your limiting beliefs, you have enabled new methods of thinking. You have opened new channels for your mind and given yourself the opportunity to move on from past experiences and future expectations. You now have the opportunity to act in this moment and set a goal.
Action Now #3
Create your new goals list
Begin by writing out all the goals you can imagine for yourself with no limitations. Take 10 minutes, dedicate this time to nothing else. Absolutely no distractions. Lock yourself away and keep your pen moving. Forget all punctuation, capitalization and abbreviate as much as you can. Your goal is to write everything you wish to achieve with absolutely no limitations.
It is important that you do not spend any amount of time thinking to hard about any one subject. Simply let your mind flow and keep your pen moving. Imagine that you can have every single thing you want in the entire world and write it on this paper now.
Examine your goals list. This list represents what you truly want in life with no restrictions. This you life with no limiting beliefs. And the most beautiful part about this list is that every single item you have listed is absolutely 100% attainable.
Action Now #4
Review this list and look for goals that can be grouped together. Put them into like categories. Most of our goals can be grouped into Physical, Financial, Career and Relationship.
Of course these are just starting points. You can group your goals however you like. What is most important is they are grouped together in similar categories that make sense to you.
Make sure not to have too many categories. Think more from a global big picture perspective. Do the goals relate to each other in anyway? If so, group them into the same category.
If you find on your goals list you have Eat Healthier, Sleep Better, Stay Active Etc. These goals could be grouped together into a category based on your physical body.
Group your goals together now.
Grouping like goals together will allow you to take massive leaps in accomplishing your dreams. It is much easier to attack a group of goals at once instead of focusing on many small goals over time.
Example, If you have goals to lose weight, improve your energy levels and have a healthier diet, by simply accomplishing the bigger goal of changing your diet, you will likely accomplish the other 2 smaller goals of losing weight and improving energy levels.
Action Now #5
Review your goals list now and prioritize which you will achieve first. Look for goals that accomplish multiple outcomes. Ask your self this question:
Now that you have prioritized your goals, it is time to officially commit the selected goal to yourself and embark on the journey of its achievement.
Format And Set Your New Goal
Write out in total and complete detail the new goal of which you are setting out to achieve. Place no limits on your potential. Write as if everything you can imagine is possible for you. Because it is.
It is also important that you make sure this goal is written in the personal, positive and present tense and also very specific to the outcome you wish to achieve.
You are essentially writing these goals as if they have already been achieved. For example, if you have a goal to burn fat, you cannot simply list that as a goal. It is much to broad and any amount of fat burning anywhere on your body would technically result in achievement of that goal. Your goals must be specific and worded in a manor as if they have already been attained.
Traditional form of goal setting“
“I want to burn fat”
Results Oriented Goal Setting
“I have a lean body and 6 pack abs”
You are envisioning the future outcome you wish to achieve and making it real in this moment. You should be able to absolutely envision every part of the goal and imagine that you are living it in this moment. Make sure all your goals are set in this personal, positive and present tense.
Set your new goal now.
You have now successfully narrowed down and set the goal that you are going to achieve. Now, we must make a plan of action. All to often our dreams forever elude us because we simply do not create a plan and take action upon it. Day by day, month by month, year by year, the things we wish to accomplish never get achieved.
A successful blueprint is built upon 4 items.
#1 A Plan
What is the plan for your goal achievement? How are you going to go from where you are now to where you want to be? You need to know the starting point and the ending point. You need a clear vision of the final outcome and then think about all the steps in between to get there.
Likely the plan is going to change and adapt as you make progress towards your goal, so don’t spend to much time thinking about the little things. Simply make sure that the ending outcome, the goal achieved is a concrete and clear vision that you can literally step into and live at any moment as if you already have attained it.
Action Now #7
Think of the ending outcome clearly define the achieved goal and work backwards. Think of everything that comes off the top of your head that will be a required step in achieving this outcome.
Write down any and all steps that come to mind. Again do not spend too much time thinking about the specifics. The course will change as you make strides towards achieving the goal. Simply define the ending result and get a basic over view of the steps required.
The difference between dreams never acted upon and goals achieved is one simple thing.
#2 A Deadline
It transforms the method in which we think about the goals attainment. It is one thing to say i want to lose 10lbs and an entirely different thing to commit to doing it in 60 days. Setting a deadline makes your goal real. It makes you accountable.
Action Now #8
Set a deadline for your goal and share it with 5 people and ask them to hold you accountable to it. Routinely revisit this deadline daily.
#3 Identify Potential Challenges and Skills Needed
Take a moment now to examine the potential challenges you will face in pursuit of this goal. Think of things you might encounter. Do not get too caught up here and create fears. The goal of this exercise is to identify potential challenges so you can also identify potential skills needed to be learned to accomplish the goal.
For example, if you have set a goal for saving money, some challenges you may face could be over spending, dealing with debt, monitoring your finances or any other multitude of individual challenges. If you identify some of these potential challenges early into the game, it gives you the opportunity to learn new skills or gain the resources needed to get a resolution to the challenges prior to them being faced.
Action Now #9
Identify any potential challenges you may encounter in pursuit of your goal and uncover the required skills or resources needed to ensure the challenge is faced and defeated. List them now.
You have successfully crushed your limiting beliefs, created new goals and developed blueprints for their achievement. You are now ready for the single most important step.
Take Action right now.
They look back on their lives 1,2 even 10 years in the past and realize all this time they have had the same goals but never achieved them.
The difference between those who have what they want and those that don’t is action.
Action Now #10
Take the first step in this moment. Seriously, step away from whatever you are reading this on and take the step right now. It doesn’t matter if you “Don’t have time” or will “Do it later”. Taking action right now in this moment is going to give you the momentum.
It’s going to ignite the fire. You can have the best plan in the world and if you don’t take action its useless. So stop right now and do the first step of your blueprint. Take the first step to the inevitable achievement of your current and future goals.
Did you do it? Did you actually stop reading and take Action in that moment? If you did, you have already done more than 87% of people ever will with their goals. You have already taken the first step towards the rest of your life.
Now all you need to do is follow your plan and assess as you go. The most important thing is that you routinely take action towards your goal. Stick to the plan as best you can and adapt as needed.
If you find yourself at a plateau, follow the plan.
If you find yourself moving faster then expected, follow the plan.
Even if you fall back, follow the plan.
If you are aware of what you want in life and constantly taking steps to get there, you will absolutely conquer every goal you set.
Continue now with the betterment of yourself and never stop pursuing your goals. If you ever find yourself lost or needing to regain focus review this success manual once again and complete each step as if you had never before.
